Lozetta Hayden is a general and special education teacher in the Colonial School District and a two-time school Teacher of the Year, currently pursuing a Master's in School Leadership. An equity practitioner committed to disrupting the status quo in education and shifting the atmosphere for every learner, she is the author of My Alphabet Nightmare and a TEDx speaker whose talk, "Captivating and Motivating Our Youth Through Telementoring," continues to inspire educators and students alike.
A proud graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Lozetta is also the creator of the Relational Transformation Framework™ (RTF), born from years of watching students memorize steps they didn't understand. RTF shifts the learner's first question from "What do I do?" to "What relationship do I see?" — teaching students to read the structure of an equation before attempting to dismantle it, and restoring the mathematical "why" that traditional pedagogy too often leaves behind.
For Lozetta, RTF is more than a methodology; it is the missing link to propel every student — particularly those long underserved by conventional instruction — toward genuine excellence.
Off the clock, she is married to her college sweetheart, David, is the proud mom of five and grandmother of three, and can usually be found camping under the stars or cruising the open seas.
